What is Social and Community Participation?
Social and Community Participation is a category of support provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia. It is designed to assist NDIS participants in engaging with their community, participating in social activities, and developing essential social skills. The aim is to enhance their overall well-being, independence, and quality of life by fostering meaningful connections with others and being actively involved in community life.
The Social and Community Participation funding aims to enable NDIS participants to be active members of their communities, promoting inclusion, social interaction, and a sense of belonging.

Falling in support category 4 under Core Supports, it helps NDIS participants actively engage with their community and participate in various social activities, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion.

Participants work with their NDIS planner to identify the specific activities and services that align with their interests and goals.
